About the Role
Every great book deserves a great design. We are looking for a skilled Book Designer to craft the visual identity of QuillBees titles — from interior typesetting to cover art direction — across print and digital formats.
What You Will Do
- Design covers and interior layouts for fiction, non-fiction, children's, and educational titles
- Typeset manuscripts to print-ready standard using InDesign
- Prepare files for both offset print and digital formats (EPUB, PDF)
- Art-direct cover photography and illustration briefs with external artists
- Develop and maintain visual identity guidelines for individual series and imprints
- Review proofs and ensure all files meet printer and platform specifications
What We Are Looking For
- 3+ years of book design experience in a publishing house or design studio
- Expert proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Strong typography sensibility and an eye for composition and detail
- Experience preparing print-ready files and working with printers
- Knowledge of EPUB production and digital formatting standards
- A portfolio demonstrating range across different book genres and formats
